The 1st time in November that I could finally wake up later than 10AM, in which I got out of my bed at 10.30AM. I went to Wan Ting’s house to meet up with the rest of the clique to watch videos of yesterday performance that Wan Ting’s mom took. Sean was the first to be there, followed by me, then Pei Xuan and lastly, Wei Na.

We rushed down to Cineleisure at 3.35PM as Pei Xuan was told to buy the tickets by Mrs. Lim. When we reached that place, it was already 4.45PM. There were 11 of us who were going to watch that movie, as there was not enough tickets already. We entered the cinema a little late, and there were 5 of us in my row, being (from left to right seating): Debra, Pei Xuan, Me, Wan Ting, Sean. Pei Xuan was telling me how I could not lift her like Tyler lifted Nora …

The movie was nice, but people by the back are seriously laughing too madly. By the time the movie ended, it was already 7.00PM and we’re quite stuck with our choices to have our dinner at. The final decision was to have dinner at Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao Restaurant at Takashimaya. Wei Na escorted Abigail, Clara and Wei Heng to the MRT station while we waited for our turn … about 10 minutes? We had some camera wars while queuing up too!

But the camera war didn’t just end there, it continued in the restaurant where we were all targeted our cameras at Sean and Wan Ting. We even overheard some interesting lines such as “????????” and they kept taking food for each other! The way everybody ate their noodles was quite funny, and I was caught in the act as well! We finished at around 8.45PM and went back to Heren to take neoprints as Debra seriously wants to.

After taking neoprints, we took the MRT back but I didn’t alight at Clementi nor did Sean alight at Jurong East. I walked Pei Xuan home after the bus ride, when Wan Ting kept tuggling my sleeves to ask me to get off the bus with her when it seems like my butt is stuck to the seat. I dashed out of the bus only when the door was gonna close …

After seeing her home, I walked my way back to Lakeside MRT station and by the time I reached home, it was already 11PM. Gonna be tiring tomorrow when there’s still gonna be dance.

Est. 95 Hours of Practice in November

And all these came to an end today, November 30th … the Cultural Night.

We had to reach school by 7.45AM and after packing stuffs on the lorries, we shall leave by 8.15AM for Victorian Theatre. I finally got to meet my official lion-head for the chinese dance item tonight, it was gold & orange! Zhi Kai was so jealous that mine’s so shiny =)

As we were travelling on a bus, Zhi Kai had the loudest laughter when he listened to songs by Weird Al Yankovic on my iPod, and from the Mr. Bean that was showing on the TV as well. It was a 45 minutes bus-ride, before finally reaching the Victorian Theatre! Upon reach there I told Sean, "we were here as audience for the previous times (2 for me) and now, we are performing for the audiences this time."

For the morning, we just tried out our positions on the stage and there was really nothing special going on. The chinese dance club had 3 room: the left and centre room belongs to the girls, the right is shared by the guys and male MCs. We also put on our make-up, and guys’ makeup really look fearsome close-up.As I’m the only guy with deep-set eyes, mine was not obvious as the other guys. We were not supposed to eat anywhere else but the basement, so we ate there and truthfully, the food is not very nice. Sean, Zhikai and Weiheng had tummyache after having their meal, and they kinda made our washroom really smelly. Wu laoshi arrived after I’ve finished my meal, and he helped us out with the lion-heads after that.

As Sean was still having his lunch, Wu-laoshi helped me out with the couple dance with Pei Xuan first as I really had trouble lifting her up. She wacked me a couple of times because whenever she was really to jump so I could lift, I didn’t because I was distracted and laughing. But there was slight improvement … slight. When Sean came, we trained with the lion-head and went through a mass-rehersal after that.

Mrs. Lim said the latin was much better compared to the previous times, and I think I knew the reason - I found the right feeling already. When I told Sean, he said he found that feeling to dance latin today as well and we were like, so glad! After the mass-rehersal, Wu-laoshi again helped me with my couple dance with Pei Xuan cause he said I kept using the "lan-hua-zhi" (the female way of hand posture). Really appreciated his help though I kept joking around with him.

The dinner was yucks, really. Pei Xuan only ate the fishes, and told me "I only eat 2 pieces of meat hor, later don’t complain then you can’t lift me up", then she threw away the whole dinner-box. I was like "Huh?!", dumbfounded! We took a few photo graphs before changing into our costumes, because it is the performance time! Truthfully, I was quite nervous and my legs trembbled backstage. Wu-laoshi and Pei Xuan knew of this, then the other guys, cause whenever I think of the lifting part, I’ll be quite scared. The other worry was collaborating with Zhi Kai to lift Sean up, as that is the cruial part (the ending to the chinese dance item!) … moreover, it was unsuccessful during our previous attempts during rehersals!

But all these worries halt when we danced. During Chinese Dance, I was able to lift Pei Xuan up, Sean was able to be lifted up too! Although Wan Ting slipped while I was supporting her, it was not obvious as she tried her best to maintain balance up there. I shouldn’t have wore my latin pants inside, because it’s really slippy for her to handle. The other dances went on quite smoothly as well.

But something I should note, I’m really proud of the drama club. Especially to Darren, who took charge in place of me, he did an awesome job and I’m sure everybody else will feel the same way. Not only him, but the actors too. I knew it was not easy during the rehersals, when they had to cast their personal matters aside to get into the character, even getting slapped many times, hugging while tolerating the jokes made about them, crying when they don’t feel like it. I felt their hardwork, but I hope they are able to felt their hardwork was made worth tonight. If I wrote those words on a piece of paper, you guys took the stage by storm by making a world out of those words tonight … thank you.

During the finale, all of us had a piece of mind. However, Huang-laoshi was the only who didn’t received any flowers and it was sort of embarrasing. When I asked Pei Xuan later at night, she said she was unable to hear the name being annouced and people backstage blocked her view. The kind of spirit our chinese dance club had tonight was just great, because we apologised to Huang-laoshi as a whole group because it was not solely Pei Xuan’s fault … and it was just from our intuition to do it as a group.

The busy november comes to an end, with a cultural night ending this month of hardwork. Please check out members’ blog from other art societies who’ve performed tonight and they would have wrote about tonight from another point of view.

A moment like this
some people wait a lifetime.
For a moment like this
some people search forever.
Oh, I can’t believe it’s happening to me …
Some people wait a lifetime,
for a moment like this.

I went to school this morning to take a look at the drama club’s progression with the play and it was fun there.
Edward had a bad voice day as his pitch went high out of a sudden many times, but they really gave me suprises with their improvements. I had to leave at 10.30AM as I’m supposed to meet up with the girls for a shopping trip to bugis. However, I arrived a little late as I had to clean-up the finale for drama club.

It seemed that I always greet Pei Xuan with a scare! While she, Shaz and Jac- were surrounding the food machine, I just softly said “Hello” and Pei Xuan had the most exaggerated reaction.
After waiting for some time, we went on the train without Weina as when she called us earlier, she was just out of bed! So it was going to be: Damien, Pei Xuan, Jacqueline, Shazleen, Yip Bei & Wei Na. Noticed that I’m the only guy? Because Sean pang-seh me for *ahem*.

We went to Sakae Sushi at around 12.30PM, and joined by Wei Na, then Yip Bei. Pei Xuan and Jac won’t let me sit next to the tray! Hmph! I could really tell they don’t eat sushi often, and the thing is, they don’t eat sashimi! Casting that aside, they kinda had troubled handling the sushi with chopsticks, especially the one with fish-eggs!
Jac and Wei Na failed badly trying to put that sushi into their mouth, only Shazleen succeeded. Pei Xuan and Jac took my handphone hostage and placed it on the revolving tray … and they took photos of it. While eating the steam eggs, Jac spit ‘em out when Shaz made her laughed with jokes, and we were like soldiers shielding themselves from attacks! There were 6 of us, but the arrangement of seat is quite unnatural when 4 (Jac, Shaz, Weina, Yipbei) are sitting on one side, and 2 (Pei Xuan, I) are sitting on another side. Because it ain’t buffet, so the bill was quite a shocker - $83.45.

After lunch, we went to the bugis market but after a separation, we (Yipbei, Weina & I) lost track of the 3 other girls. We found them after 40 minutes and I really had a bad headache after repeating calls to Pei Xuan’s phone … and she had around 60 missed calls from me. Quite worrying when neither her nor Jac picked up the phone after such a long time.

We then went back to Bugis Junction and they took rests at the print club, not to take neoprints! Aren’t they just so funny? And they took zhi-lian photos in the machines, using their camera-phones! I was like, “Hey … people are waiting outside to use!”

We went our own way when Shaz had to meet up with her friends, Jac & Yipbei left to meet up with their own cliques. So Weina, Peixuan and I took the MRT together. Upon reaching Outram Park MRT station, Weina said she’s going to Vivo City so I just took that train ride with Pei Xuan. We just talked all the way until I alighted at Clementi station, and the way she ended today’s outing was … stamping on my feet as I’m gonna alight after I whispered something into her ears.

But we were on the phone again soon, a conference call with Wanting & Sean, who were excited about the video I’ve made. I’m not gonna blog much about them today, since Sean said I’ve been writing too much on them. So, today, ?????????? ;)

Okay, this took more around 30 minutes to compile and another 30 minutes to export. Sweet ain’t it? Hope the dance club members would go WOOHOO~! over it … * laughs * I’ve posted the lyrics to this song, sang by Kang Eun Soo and featured in the movie Innocent Steps.

Moment … you came to my heart just by chance.
To me, you don’t seem to be a stranger.
It was so long for you to finally find me.
For a 1000 years, I’ve been waiting for you.
More than million tears fall in eternal love,
Remember forever more,
we will stand for a 1000 years.

Sometimes I know it will not be easy with you,
until then I will pray for our true love.
Don’t ever forget, my love,
we will be together.
For a 1000 years I’ve been waiting for you,
more than million tears fall in eternal love.
Remember forever more,
we will stand for a 1000 years.

Don’t say … I don’t want to hear you say goodbye.
Please promise me you will always be my love, my love.
For a 1000 years I’ve been waiting for you,
more than million tears fall in eternal love.
(in eternal love)
Remember forever more,
(Forever more)
we will stand for a 1000 years
For a 1000 years I’ve been waiting for you,
(waiting for you)
more than million tears fall in eternal loven
(in my love my love)
we will stand for a 1000 years.

I’m back from the mass rehearsal today, and I’m sure everybody involved are glad that there ain’t a 3rd rehearsal … or else I won’t be blogging here now. I won’t say which group performed best or what-so-ever, because all items amazed me in terms of improvement from the previous mass rehearsal!

However, some stuffs cropped up regarding my own performances. For both Chinese dances, I nearly slipped many times as I stepped on my own belt (foolish, eh?) and during the morning rehearsal, I actually fell on my back when striking a pose in the latter part. Latin was a little more troublesome, Huang-laoshi caught me counting the beats! I spent the whole of yesterday night to train movements of my arms and I did ‘em more naturally today ;) But truthfully, this standard ain’t ready for the Wednesday performance yet. Hip Hop is like always, except this time, I had to deliver the flower and hold the radio props. During the morning rehearsal, the bouquet of flower flew away because I exerted too much force … *laughs*

Anyways, my costumes seem to be attractive. Why? For the male Chinese dance costume, the drama club dudes sort of enjoy tearing it apart. As for the Latin dance costume, mine was a purplish one and whenever I walked into the hall, most eyes were on that shiny piece of cloth. Hip-hop was slightly better, but the Diesel logo on the shirt really attracted much jokes.

The dance girls sabotage for leading the crowd by shouting the 3 cheers for PAG (Performing Arts Groups) by the end of the day. Mrs. Lim further enchanted this sabotage by not allowing me to use the microphone, so I had to rely on my natural voice. It worked though … * laughs *

I’m uploading a video now … will post it later, hope you people will enjoy it (especially Wanting & Sean!).
