Ducked at Airport
I’m gonna put Changi Airport on my last of most frequently visited places soon. Anges, Jacky and I headed for Changi Airport to welcome the peeps back from Korea!
Happy Birthday Anges Loy! Yesterday night was so impromptu, I got her a donald duck hand puppet at 10.30PM, which almost all shops have closed at bugis, pretty lucky huh. And while we were at the Airport, in the last dying 3 minutes before 12AM, Jacky made the dash of his life into the cake shop and bought a pandang cake for her… with a candle! The shop closed exactly after we gave her the cake and the puppet… Super awesome!

Birthday Girl!

Had a really hard time getting the door to close for a while.

Donald Donald Donald!

This was how we welcomed Shawn/Shenn/Nic/Yixuan back to Singapore =)

Anges & Shenn!

Ah Beng =)

Tourists =P

He reminds me of Izzy in Digimon Adventure…

Merry Christmas~

Bubbles!

Hmmmm…

… Good! That’s our laksa meal at 3AM!

Crayons and Papers!

We were here!

Yet another testament =)

Telstar II IN
My purchase of the day: Adidas Telstar II IN, $85.

Surprisingly, this is the exact same model that Cazua bought! The difference is that mine has blue strips and his, black stripes.

SITEX 2008 & T3
SITEX 2008
It was packed. I can’t remember the number of times my foot got run over by trolleys and the number of times I was smeared by the sweat of others. The 4 of us who went, did not have really big ambitions (in terms of shopping there). I got myself a 8GB Toshiba Flashdrive and USB port extension, which sums up to around $40. FT got herself a microphone to sing at KaraokeParty and HY bought a 21.6″ LG Flatron for $250.
Saw a few familiar faces there, and Samuel is working there too! He works at Toshiba so if you want to buy laptop, look for him and buy from him! Or else his pay is pretty pathetic without commission =x
And I met Mrs. Lim (Ang Yen Ling), my secondary school dance teacher! Was over the moon to see her again, after one long year!

iPhone XL Edition. The attention you ever wanted.

GTR. Why is it there.

Going once, going twice~ SOLD!
Airport: Terminal 1
Dinnertime! Popeye’s is so much tastier than KFC, and it cost around $1 more for every item KFC has to offer. Its truly finger lickin’ good =)

My 3 piece chicken meal set… yummy.
Airport: Terminal 3
This is so going into my list of favorite places to be at. The atmosphere is completely different from the other terminals, probably because it is newer and less crowded.

Airport: Terminal 3: Crowne Plaza
Our favorite place to be at Terminal 3 should be… Crowne Plaza! It’s freakin’ classy and MK insisted that if he wants to go to the washroom anytime, it must be there. The $70 buffet is so seducing~ Oyster, lobsters… =( Money is the only obstruction.

Last Week of November
Happenings
1. Sent Shawn & Shenn off. Korea trip!
2. SITEX (IT Show) starts on Thursday, but I’m going on Friday.
Basically there isn’t much this week, which sums up to… boring.
Boys, Boys, Boys
The more I listen to Taylor Swift’s Fearless Album, there more I felt as though I’m listening to the same song. Perhaps it is because I pay more attention to the lyrics than the melody, and they all suggest the same thing: fairytale love story, about boys, boys and boys. Just to categorize a few:
Fairytale: Love Story, White Horse, Fifteen
Pissed-Off Girl: Tell Me Why, Thats the Way I Love You, You’re Not Sorry
Love Story is the only song I can still listen to, but I guess I overlistened to the song so far. Guilty pleasure =x
World Cutest Girl
… Self-proclaimed, I am just echoing.
Sorry Yeelin, but I have to post these! It’s too darn funny.

Why Break-Ups Ain’t So Bad
It is perhaps the most difficult job on earth to have your friends get over a broken-relationship. You can’t tell them outright that they are pathetic for brooding over it, and consolation never seem to work very well, simply because a certain warmth is gone. What people do not notice is that, the warmth is already winter prior to the break-up. Here’s an illustration:

The basis of this graph is based on a saying that goes “all good things must come to an end”, which is why the values of the x-axis is not stated. As for the values on the y-axis, 25% is the maximum when lovey-dovey relationships are compared with the good things in life.
As we reach the end of the curve, 2 things can happen: break-up or get hitched (which is obviously putting your single-hood at risk). It cannot be the latter, since my friends would put that last on their list for now (under-age!) but they couldn’t bear to break-up either. It is the symptom of being obsessive, wanting something to be around when you need it… a backup.
Repercussions
So when one broke-up with another, and regrets/misses (etc.), there’s many repercussions:
1. Begins to look unattractive, and pathetic later.
2. Irritates your friends who tries to cheer you up, but to no avail.
3. You probably smell, since you are probably too unmotivated to clean up yourself
4. You can’t even enjoy a proper love song cause every ‘you’ in the lyrics is specifically referring to someone.
Life is more than just that phase of affection that you can live without. Be awesome!

Americanization is Teevee
Japanese Drama used to be what I watch during holidays. I stopped watching local programs since 4 years ago, and 5 years to totally not switch to those channels at all. Modern local tv-shows are…. meh, I dislike them. The programs are usually too corny or predictable. Acting is fake, duh, but the way Singaporean actors do it, is too obvious.
And America took over my TV-watchlist! Here are the top 3 characters from shows I’m currently watching that I would love to share!
Barney Stinson

From: How I Met Your Mother
If there’s one character that I’ll never sick off, while lying on my bed for a day staring at the TV-set, it has to be this Barney. The purple one, is sickening, the theme song was a reason enough to mute the TV-set.
He’s a woman’s man, and he always have very catchy phrases (It’s gonna be… legend… wait for it… dary. Legendary!). His metaphors, although absurd most of the times, do make sense on another level. He’s humorous, he’s charming, he’s a great character to watch.
He seem to love singlehood, not only with himself, but his friends too. Here’s one absurd example of how he consoled Marshall, whose girlfriend has left him.
For the first time…EVER…the three of us are single at the same time.
I’ve dreamed about this day, boys, and it is going to be LE-GEN-DARY.
Together we will own this city!
Any time a girl wants to get back at her ex-boyfriend, we’ll be there.
Any time a girl wants to…solve her father issues through promiscuity and binge drinking WE WILL BE there.
Any time a bachelorette party drives through the city in a limo, sticking their heads out the sunroof, shouting “WHAT’S UP NEW YORK!??” We will be what is ‘up’ New York!
Favorite Line: When i get sad, i stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
Dr. Spencer Reid

From: Criminal Minds
Photographic memory. Witty guy. That’s his charm. I kinda enjoyed the recent episodes which explored his past, which gave depth to his character. The amount of information stored in his head is… simply amazing. He can remember all the evidence pieces, and even the details of a novel he have read before.
Other characters he met, but are not his acquaintance nor friends, would normally be shocked by his abilities… and even his title ‘Doctor’.
Aaron: This is Special Agent Dr. Reid.
Man: Oh, you look too young to have gone to medical school.
Dr. Spencer Reid: They are Ph.D.’s, three of them.
Man: What, are you a genius or something?
Dr. Spencer Reid: I don’t believe that intelligence can be accurately quantified, but I do have an IQ of 187, an eidetic memory, can read 20,000 words per minute.
[pause]
Dr. Spencer Reid: Yes, I’m a genius.
Bart Simpson

From: The Simpsons
Within one month of holiday, I tied myself to the Simpsons franchise and watched 19 seasons of it at one go. Insane? Hell yea.
Bart Simpson speaks audaciously, and gets into trouble which he enjoys more than a lot. I like his character, particularly when it flashes back to when he was about 3-year old. Lisa and him were more affectionate and caring towards each other back then.

The Modern Way
Yuan Ching Open House
I went back to my secondary school earlier today, and I swear I’m envy of my juniors now:
Point 1: Touchscreen PCs, and touchscreen whiteboards/visualizers. OMG. OHP was the best we ever got.
Point 2: Beanbags. Those would make library my favorite place in school!
Point 3: The $300 sofas as claimed by our principal. Sweet.
I didn’t get to see many teachers nor juniors who I knew, but those I did managed to meet and talked to were awesome. And I finally saw Miss Lim Peilin (my former form teacher) while we were playing street soccer! Telling her that I got promoted to JC2, was really delightful. For a moment, I felt proud of myself.
Narcissism
nar⋅cis⋅sism
–noun
1. inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity.
2. Psychoanalysis. erotic gratification derived from admiration of one’s own physical or mental attributes, being a normal condition at the infantile level of personality development.
How do one determine if another is a narcissist?
#1. He shaves himself, or waxes on a regular basis. The victimized areas would usually be places that would be noticeable, which means the rocket launch zone is out of the question. But you wouldn’t really know…
#2. He enjoys telling people that he shaved, or going to do so. There is a certain degree of profoundness in that, which cannot be explained. Think of it as a child who would run home to tell his mommy that he managed to do 1+1=2. It’s a personal achievement.
The inspiration to write this text of awesomeness, is from one of my friends who decided to wax! We made fun of him all day because of his plans. The argument is to look neat, be tidy, hence people wax. It would be right in a way, combing leg hair is far too absurd.
It may be a personal choice, but we definitely have something to say about it - reasons don’t stand a chance. Something sleazy, something easy. Some here is my burning question:

Desperate Measures
How do you feel when you cheat? Some feel bad, some feel proud, some don’t know. My instantaneous reply would be: that would depend on what I’m cheating at.
In many forums where gaming discussion takes place, there has to be people who ask for cheats. And then the following sequence takes place:
USER#1: “i need cheats for the game. anyone?”
USER#2: “don’t cheat, play the game legitimately.”
What happens next, is usually nothing or a whole thread about why gamers should cheat or should not. There is a whole load of reasons that I can lose count of, but one particular reply was stuck in my head - “just play it the way you like”
So today we had a re-test for economics. The examiners were extremely lenient, and cheating was more than possible. It was as if it (cheating) was… encouraged. And true enough, there were. Does that reply stuck in my head contradicts with my opinion that we shouldn’t be cheating?
It doesn’t. It is like telling Beckham that the rules in the major league is the same as the rules in NBA when he goes to America.
But it is a choice, after all. Maybe some people like it better that way.
My Missing Wallet
In my previous entry, I mentioned Shawn found his missing wallet. Now it happened to me, after 10 long months! I lost my wallet somewhere around mid-January while going to Huimin’s birthday party, and never seen it until yesterday, when my mom checked the mailbox and it was there in an envelope! Gawd, I’m so lucky. And everything is intact! Thanks (to whoever you are that sent it back!)

The Rain and the Suntan
I managed to grab an hour of sleep before I made this blog-entry, but that happened on a bus. Shawn told me that I could take Bus 173 directly to Clementi Bus Interchange but… he forgot to mention that it was a one-hour ride. Normally, I would have taken the train which would take me 15 minutes (the maximum traveling time) instead.
Yesterday we headed to ECP, and then to Shawn’s house for a bonding session - 1 table, 4 people, mahjong. I can’t figure out how adults can withstand the weary eyes and brain-deadness through the night. And that green lucky chip, that was our 2nd inside joke for the night.
East Coast Park
We were very unlucky. I’ll never attend outdoor activities unless I check the weather beforehand. It looked all so sunny and windy, but it started pouring as we were halfway through cycling and skating.
Shawn lost his wallet, but kind souls came knocking on his door close to midnight to deliver his lost package. Lucky luck lucky~ Ahahs. As always, there’s tons of photographs.
#1. Shenn!

#2. Shawn!

#3. Melissa!

#4. Munkit!

#5. Me!

Melissa wanted to suntan… while waiting for the bus.

Shawn enjoys taking photographs everywhere.

China doll and Shenn.

The sandcastles were so beautiful, really picturesque.

Here’s a close up of the sandcastles!

Having lunch here is something we don’t do every now and then.

Spastic.

If we had took the train, I bet it would be in the suspicious articles list.
